About this deal

My Review: Many's the Golden Age mystery that, viewed by modern eyes and filtered through epithet-intolerant lenses, doesn't hold up well. Mary Shelley's darkly disturbing tale is illustrated by Angela Barrett and newly introduced by Richard Holmes. Datos históricos, libros sobre la vida de Ricardo III y sobre su familia, opiniones diversas de los personajes, etc.

The subject offered her rich material: the debate about whether Richard had murdered his brother’s two sons, the famous Princes in the Tower (the Tower of London, that is, where the boys were living when they were last seen) had been ongoing for centuries. Tey’s title, drawn from the saying that “truth is the daughter of time,” is a nod to this same idea—and her book did get the water flowing. Here is a quote from Wikipedia about the book: "The Daughter of Time is a 1951 detective novel by Josephine Tey, concerning a modern police officer's investigation into the alleged crimes of King Richard III of England. In the story, Grant suffers from the same problem that has made Richard so controversial for historians - there just isn’t a lot of solid evidence. Could such a sensitive, noble face actually belong to one of the world's most heinous villains - a venomous hunchback who may have killed his brother's children to make his crown secure? It is only at that juncture that the rumours and speculative accusations start to be recorded in historical documents.

So don't expect to be on the edge of your seat- but do expect to be thoroughly entertained if this is a subject that interests you.

It's only taken two years for them to decide that he can be buried 100 yards or so from his last burial place. Both Tanner's history and the novel are non-existent; it has been suggested that the title of the latter is derived from Guy Paget's 1937 biography of the same name. The groundbreaking debut novel of Hugo Award-winning author Becky Chambers, one of the most imaginative voices in contemporary science fiction, is a truly galactic limited edition.
