Isn't the whole point of home video to enable us to watch our favourite films and television shows (and whatever other visual media you can think of) any time we wish? Seasons 1 and 2 were made in 1991-2, while Season 3 came out in 1995, and the difference in video quality is apparent. I distinctly remember a line where Albert says "That paki won't let us have nothing" which was cut out, i think it was even edited so he said something different.

Seasons 1 and 2 don’t look too great, studio bound and very much of videotape quality reminiscent of a whole lot of BBC comedy from the seventies and eighties. But last year they were given the opportunity(I don't know why) to edit the episode in to what they orignally wanted. Eddie and Richie are two pathetic, sex-crazed, slobby flatmates living in a filthy, damp flat at 11 Mafeking Parade in Hammersmith, London. This included new productions from comics known at the Comic Strip in an attempt to attract viewers, with including Mayall and Edmondson for Bottom and Dawn French for Murder Most Horrid.

Clarke novel 2001: A Space Odyssey, however largely does not take a science-fiction twist until the final act. The initial release of the SEASON 3 AND 4 set had season 3 episodes cut by 5 minutes each, while one of the specials was cut by 8 minutes. After the first series was filmed in June and July 1991, Bottom was first announced in August, when the BBC reported that it had commissioned over 400 hours of new television programming for the upcoming autumn series. The live format allowed Rik and Ade to shake off the bounds of BBC censorship and be as rude and crude as they pleased; subsequently each show was rated 18 for language, violence and sexual references. This marked the last ever live tour by Rik and Ade, and served as a farewell to the characters of Richie and Eddie. This was a topical gag as the formal separation was officially announced not long before Christmas that year. In addition to the series the pair completed five stage show tours between 1993 and 2003, and adapted the sitcom into a feature-length film, Guest House Paradiso, released in 1999.

After some time the pair realised that they had produced a substantial work that would suit a feature film. Currently it's the only theatrical movie from the year (that isn't brand new) that I liked which still doesn't have any kind of bluray announcement. Edmondson said writing Bottom was liberating "because it's obvious what the idea is – to be as funny as possible. A common theme over the five live shows was Rik Mayall's tendency to forget his lines and break into uncontrollable laughter whenever things didn't go to plan. They didn't have time to put on the laughter track on the original transmission and it was felt that some aspects of the comedic situations came across badly because of that.In 2010, Edmondson confirmed that he had quit comedy, stating that his interest in it has declined for many years, and wanted to focus more on his band. This is most annoying, and surely happens due to pure laziness on the part of those in charge with releasing the material. Mayall added that the title was deliberate to make viewers think of "bottom jokes", but that it also reflects on the show's premise of "two guys at the bottom of the heap".
