TCL's flagship set, the Mini LED powered C845K is a truly impressive TV. It's the brand's highest end model, offering flagship screen tech and specs to match. Built for gamers and movie fans alike, it utilises a Mini LED panel to deliver a dazzlingly bright and punchy picture. We are reviewing the 55-inch version of the TCL C735 and given other screen sizes use similar panels, performance should be reasonably similar, but we cannot guarantee that will be the case given the usual differences in LCD panel to panel. Viewing angles are poor as we would expect from this type of VA panel with brightness, colour and gamma shift seen as soon as you move 30 degrees off-axis to the sides or get above or below the set. Room positioning is important to get the best from this TCL C735 and when watching directly onto the screen many of the issues are mitigated, giving the TV very good image quality at the price point.

What about its built-in sound quality? We spent most time listening to the Roku through a larger audio system, and advise you to do the same. The built-in sound will do fine for casual listening to daytime TV, and has a fuller sound than most built-in speakers. But for big TV and big movies, or for the music sources available via app or streaming, use a sound system to match. We aim to offer a simple and convenient delivery choice.
